Edited 4 months agoI purchased the SEBX-11843 pressing recently. When I first played it, it sounded very scratchy on all four sides. Then I gave each side a thorough but careful cleaning--at least twice. It now sounds wonderful--very clear, full, and well-balanced with no annoying scratchy sounds. It sounds better, I think, than my 2018 Capitol pressing, which is a good bit quieter. Runouts are as follows:

Edited 9 months agoMy records have the same matrix as this release but on black vinyl and capitol labels. Disc 1 has the blue vinyl matrix scribbled out with SKBO-1-3404 added before the skribble, both disc 2s are the same

The first side comes from the Canadian version (https://discogs.programascracks.com/release/2390883-The-Beatles-1967-1970) that I own and I can say that although the Canadian version has the translucent blue vinyl which is visually nicer, the Winchester Pressing print is qualitatively superior in my opinion resulting in a flat and silent vinyl. In both cases there is an excellent mastering.

C/D side seems a little quieter than the A/B side, but not a big deal. I disagree with those saying it's too many songs crammed onto two discs. It's definitely a lot, but the mastering is solid and it sounds good to me. Plus, it's blue vinyl. -
Fun item in collection not one I grab for my ears, but helps introduce my kids to the magic. -

My copy of this sounds very thin, really lacking in mids. Is this normal? Other pressings any better?
