Sounds absolutely horrendous in the best way possible. This is the velvet underground! Just about the only thing you can do with this album is crank it to full volume and let it’s distorted mess sound like it’s breaking your speakers! Amazing album, one of the best ever.
-
My record is an original deep groove stereo pressing but the sleeve is a mono sleeve (as for the west coast mono promotion copy) with a stereo sticker attached to the upper right front cover. It has the Verve "jazz" inner sleeve.

Mines the original Westcoast press. But I can't see the tattoo on the cover for the life of me it's a little rubbed down. Ring wear that sorta thing. But I can't seem to find another release that says all black cover
-
One of the only albums I've heard where you can move bass, treble from 0 to 100 or mono to stereo on your receiver and absolutely makes no difference in sound. The best from VU.

Edited 10 years agoObviously not the best sounding album due to the nature of the sessions but it's one of the best albums ever made and Sister Ray is a song begging to be heard on wax. I haven't heard any other pressings but this one sounds nice to me.
