My son grabbed this for me at Barnes and Noble (I think). It's mislabeled as Walkin' on both sides of the album. The label states Walkin', lists the tracks for that album, and has that albums number (OJC-213). The album is definitely Workin' tho. I can't find any info about this online or here. I'm trying to get all of Davis's albums and this one is definitely an oddity in my collection. Has anyone heard about this happening? Should I add it here as a misprint?
I posted this under another version of this album because I'm not sure if I have the 2009 or 2015 pressing. -
Edited 5 months agoCome for Miles, stay for Trane. The drums sound fantastic on this record too. Great value for this pressing

Wow! What a hot cut! This release is so much fun both musically and sonically. Not knowing who remastered and cut this one but it’s really hot and well pressed. Unusual, as it seems overlooked, great reissue. Sounds even better when played with decent mono cartridge. Highly recommended.

Sounds Great, I have several of these RTI Miles Davis Mono pressing from 2009-2019 from Prestige and Columbia and they all sound wonderful. I would say they sound almost as good as the current Blue Note Classic Series. I'm not sure if they have a digital step but it is done very well as is the mastering. The availability varies but I have found several for $20 or below new so that is a great deal.

Beautiful pressing. The drums and cymbals speak very well, as well as Chambers’ bass. In my opinion one of the best jazz records of all time. This reissue is the one to get

Bought my copy from Amazon about 5 years ago, another homerun for OJC on this one, sounds excellent, lots of clarity and a great sound stage
Playing this on a Dual 1219 with Stanton 680ee and a fineline stylus into a tube phone stage, Yahama A-S701 amp and Klipsch KG 5.2 speakers -
This pressing is available right now at Barnes and Noble for $27.99. Just picked it up today. Mine has the variant 2 matrices.

It’s refreshing in this era where the focus in this “vinyl revival” seems to have moved towards charging insane prices for limited edition and small batch runs that you can still get a simple stock standard record such as this OJC reissue - and know that the quality will be fine, the price will be fair (this cost me $15!!!) and the record will play perfectly.
Want a reliable pressing of this iconic record at a great price? Well this the one you want.
Fantastic music made as part of those famous 4 records cut for Prestige when Miles had jumped ship to Columbia. Classic music, excellent pressing.
