I've heard several different reissues of this album, and have two of them. THIS is the best-sounding one I've come across, which is incredible for an unofficial release. Gorgeous! I just wish it had the tri-fold sleeve of the original

Edited one year agoI prefer this to the Akarma release. It sounds more ‘vintage’ and warm, and with better balance. My guess is that it is a good made vinyl rip from an original RCA. (Or someone got hold of some good tapes back then.)

Edited 5 years agoThis is a surprisingly great reissue.
It has a full body sound with amazing bass and highs and the EQ is spot on making every performance sound natural.
The imaging is also good with a spread soundstage that works very effective with all the detail present.
One of my only nitpicks would be that drums can sound somewhat harsh at times, but still very separated and well oriented in the stereo image. The inner groove tracks are also high and low frequency rolled off for lesser setups but its hard to notice if you dont pay attention.
Pressing wise my copy is very quiet too. If you get an unplayed example it should be one of the better ways to hear this album. I havnt compared to other reissues or an original, but I cant see any being too much better.
You wont get a trifold cover, but that will save you some space on the shelves I suppose.
Equipment Used:
