This is one of those 1990s CDs that should be collectible, but isn't, yet, so indulge the bargain. In some ways, the quality of this digital mix shouldn't surprise us, given the musicians involved and that Bob Ludwig mastered it, but I rate this as better and brighter (in a good way), than any of the recent vinyl masters, which sound a bit mashed--and duller--than this. I speak as a vinyl fanatic with multiple rigs and styli to make this eval. Note I am not listening to this through a 1989 CD player, but to the wav file through a good DAC. This is evidence that Bob Ludwig knew what he was doing and built this to last.
