Edited 11 months agoMy copy is perfect. No noise, exeptional Sound quality. Lanas voice seems to be in my room. Cleaned the record with my pro-ject vinyl cleaner before first listening.

my copy sounds great, 😀 all of you who complain about noise, do you to give your records a spin with the vinyl brush before you listen to it? 🤣

Edited one year agoMy copy is not very good. Lana's vocals on this record are exceptional, but this pressing sounds horribly distorted. The chorus of Body Electric is unlistenable.

Both my daughter and I bought this LP. We love Lana's music, but as most everyone else here claims, surface noise abounds on both copies, and an intriguing, almost symmetrical scuff mark adorns Side A. You would not believe the amount of dust we "plowed" off the record before first playing it. And still, we're listening to bacon fry throughout and between the tracks. Makes you think it was pressed inside a central vac dust canister.
Not that I think deep cleaning brand-new pressings should be mandatory, but has anyone done so with this one, in desperation? If so, did it help? I don't have a Humming Guru or other such ultrasonic device, only a manual Tergikleen/distilled water method. Unsure of how that might improve things, or possibly make them worse... -
This pressing is rather crap, about as bad as Born To Die, with slightly more volume. There’s not much dynamic about it. Body Electric was mastered when the kids were in bed. It’s half as loud as the other tracks. Surface noise throughout both sides. Don’t spend much on this. It seems we aren’t getting a new release for the 10th anniversary. Sigh.

Just got a new copy that sounds like crap - noisy all over and had a huge mar on side A that affects the last two songs.
-
Love the music, but the physical record isn't great. The second side sounds okay, but first side is really rough sounding.

It's a joke how United keeps pressing crap like this. When are they gonna get their schiit together.
I never bought album in the 70's or 80's that sounded this bad.
Total crap pressing. -
Maybe I got unlucky with my pressing, but this record is unlistenable. Pronounced vocal distortion, consistent brushing noise, and lots of pops. Very disappointed after having listened to the gorgeous Ultraviolence and Honeymoon vinyl records.
