In & Out, Rain, Just Maybe, Everyday and Incredible are particular favourite's from a cool good album, eclectic & interesting.

This is the album that really got me into Juan Atkins and what he does and has done in the past.
I'm a fan as this album as it only get's better by listening this more. Which is a sign of a great album for me.
Sure this doesn't sound a lot like the other work he has produced but I am a fan.
I you like electronic soundscapes, soulful voices and even a hint to Gladdys Knight and the Pips.
In one word: Masterpiece. -
Juan Atkins' Model 500 project moves away from its more traditional Detroit techno roots for something different in MIND AND BODY. The opening track, the clattering, awkward, "Psychosomatic," challenges the listener to hang out for the ride. But things return to a more even keel with the mellow "Everyday," even if the vocals seem ill-fitting. The atmospheric breaks on "Incredible" are a new rhythmic element, and "Rain" introduces a sultry R&B vibe that seems to have beamed in from another album altogether. The wobbly "Tipsy" seems more a part of the album with its off-kilter electro, though "Just Maybe" is just no. The odd, angular "Mind & Body" engages more with the former than the latter, but "Be Brave" returns to familiar territory. "It's Time" closes things out with some quick electro, but, overall, a slightly disappointing album from Model 500.

I bought the cd around 2000 in some kind of second hand cd store, without listening to it first. When I turned on my cd player and put the cd inside of it I was rather dissapointed what I heard out of my speakers. But some records just need to "grow" and this is one of them, as it is one of my favorite albums in my collection nowadays and definitely one of Juan's best works, although it's completely different than his Sonic Sunset and Deep Space albums.

Masterpiece ! No doubt about it. This cd contains beautifull drum 'n bass tracks, hypnotising downtempo tracks and some poppy tracks. Great producing and mixing: every detail is carefully crafted. Give this album a listen and it grabs you while u're getting deeper and deeper into the music... 10 outta 10.
