I asked Tiziana (Misanthropy Records label owner) about how many copies of Filosofem on vinyl that were made, and which one came first (blue or black) Here is her answer:

“To be honest, I can't :) But I think it was the blue one, because we had the policy of releasing the more unusual stuff first. The other option might be that we released them both at the same time. But I think it was the blue one first.

I am sorry, I also can't how many we made of each variation! I would guess either 500 or 1000. I can't even where we printed those.... I must be getting old :) I will try and find out”

'Filosofem' is the only failure in Varg's career. I like ambient music and black metal music very much, but can't stand mixing them. And why do that while being able to make awesome raw and extreme music? I don't want to accuse Varg of selling out (it would be rather impossible for someone making hateful music and even not promoting it) but it's not a good experiment. It isn't as bad as later days Summoning but it has nothing to do with early Burzum. Ofcourse some black metal parts sound as angry as always but it's still not the same thing as before.
