What an extraordinary album! From what I've read, it's considered to be one of the earliest experiments in what we now know as 'world music', which Cherry would continue especially with Codona. But, like those albums, it's ultimately grounded in jazz, free though it may be. It's really amazing how much interplay there is between Cherry and Blackwell, who of course had already played together a lot.

Edited 2 years agoDocumenting the printing company from inside the gatefold inside right page lower left is helpful to distinguish pressings/versions!
This here looks like unmentioned I.D.N. Made in but upside down compared to the usual printing style and my copy at hand!
