Flat, heavy vinyl, good bass and no surface noise. I don’t know why others had a bad experience? Purchased from Amazon UK in January 2025. Very happy with this pressing. Played on a Technics SL1210 MK2 turntable using a Goldring 2400 MI cartridge.

Where is your swing Sade ? 11 syrupy songs. The take of sound is fuzzy, in fine too confused. Good pressing.

I am getting a fair bit of surface noise happening on first listen and a gentle clean. Will give it a deep clean and try again, hopefully that clears it ups. It sounds fine but agree with below, not the best.

My copy doesn’t sound amazing. Just not bad. A bit better than a cd version. Dust, hiss as if it’s an EX+ copy of an old vinyl. But I’m glad to have it.

Edited 7 months agoNot sure why there are so many negative comments about this pressing. I think it sounds great. I don’t have an original copy so maybe that is where the comparison comes in? Sound stage is sweet and full and my pressing is very quiet.

The worse edition amongst the three last albums (Love deluxe and Soldier of love). Cannot say it's fully quiet. There's hiss between songs, especially A side in inner part.
Again, no plastic sleeve for the record, but paper sleeve.
And it's very strangely cut. Six songs on A that last 26, and five songs on B side that last 18 minutes !?!?!? 4,12 minutes Slave song could have been cut on B side easily, and the balance would be 100%: 22-22 minutes. Don't understand why.
Musically a must have album. -
Edited 8 months agoI just received a copy of this repress. Unfortunately, it was a disappointment. It feels very unbalanced in of levels, which bothers me a lot. Especially in the lower s where a muddy bass in several tracks dominates the soundscape. It’s a shame that a bad mastering ruins an otherwise very well-produced album.

Loved this lp, I have nothing to compare it to but it sounded wonderful to my ears. Her voice was so up front on this. Way better than digital streaming of those songs.
-
As with my previous reviews of the first four albums, I still wonder what the positive aspects of this high-speed masterings are? All those who speak very positively about the sound here should listen to the original in the shoot out, it would open their eyes. Actually, they couldn't have done much wrong here, but they still managed it. Absolutely incomprehensible. Bad. (Verified Purchase)
