Hoping more of these are getting pressed since my preorder at Amazon is stuck in "production delays"

Edited 8 months agoWow, I have the other 2014 remaster of this album and this version, despite also using the 2014 remaster, sounds so much better and really excellent I was shocked

No complaints. Flat and silent and the coloring of the vinyls is beautiful. I only owned the CD version before and I’d say I prefer this pressing soundwise.

Edited 8 months agoThis is an example of how all records should be remastered and pressed again from originals. Albeit from digital sources as all late 80+ and 90s etc. are, this pressing sounds amazing. Perfect stereo soundstage, brash and punky driven mids and nice tones and balance for the more delicate tracks. No pops, clicks etc. because I clean all my records, new or used and my stylus is clean and I use a static gun and brush. It was worthwhile waiting for this 30th Anniversary Edition, sounds better than my original CD, but I prefer vinyl anyway.

This seems to be a real curate's egg of a pressing. In places it sounds very good indeed, oddly enough despite the below reviewer's comment especially on Supersonic and Bring it on Down before Cigarettes and Alcohol turns muddier. And then, like one of the other reviewers, crackles are very much present, at least in the left channel at the end of Live Forever and across the board on Sad Song on side 2. Side A also seems to be very much lower in volume than all 3 of the other sides. Second disc sounds much better overall than the first, but perhaps that's just the idiosyncracies of my copy.

Having heard bad things about this remaster (the same as the 2014 release) I was initially pleasantly surprised…the vinyl, which was silent and flat, was not amazing by any means but not as bad as others have made out. Well, at least until a string of songs on side 3 & 4. Supersonic to an extent but especially Cigarettes and Alcohol and Digsy’s Diner, sounded like they were coming through a wall of mud.
I’m not familiar with this album on vinyl - have those songs always sounded that bad?
