Edited 2 months ago"High Noon" is an uptempo breaks track built around a giant psych-rock guitar riff (Giant Crab's "Airborn") to produce an unusual mix of drama and elegance. (7)
"Organ Donor" is one of Shadow's best uptempo works and features his trademark dexterous turntablism. Giorgio Moroder's psych-orchestral "Judy Goes On Holiday". (7)
Both tracks fitted right in with the UK big beat scene of the time, with their loud, uptempo break-beats, eclectic sampling and pop-song structure. Reached #22 in the UK singles chart. -

Edited 20 years agoOrgan donar is probably the best "short" DJ Shadow track, basically the organ sample off endtroducing stretched into a punchy dancefloor filler that sounds like nothing else and will have people demanding to know what it is.

Crap cover art, comes on the flimsiest vinyl I ever did see, and the tittle track aint much,
BUT
the overhaul/extension of Organ doner makes it worth the cash. This track (original and mix) highlights Shadows Genius to the fullest.
