Dismal reissue.
GZ media's usual crappy vinyl.... warped both in of not being flat but being wobbly too. Noisy with tics and some non fill. FILTHY as anything at first too.
The sound also sucks. Anyone who thinks this sounds good simply hasnt heard a UK original. Tonality sucked out with a flat, dry digital remaster in its place.
Best avoided. -
Edited 6 months agoThis is THE biggest pile of 💩 to come out of GZ Media. There is so much noise, that it’s like sitting at the beach listening to the waves crash into the shore. Mastering is dull / lifeless. The only redeeming feature is the artwork, which is superb. Buyer, be very much aware!!

Very happy with this pressing. It (along with Rio, Seven And The Ragged Tiger, Notorious and Big Thing) all sound fantastic.

Edited 9 months agoSounds excellent. Much better than my 1983 pressing. Much Fuller sound with great bass. I DO wonder what the weird fade in on the camera flashing in the Intro to Girls On Film is all about, though. It never sounded like that before. I wonder if it’s a glitch in their Digital mastering. That’s what it sounds like, ‘cuz it’s not a smooth fade in either. More like the sound cutting out. Anyway, I wish they would’ve remastered the 1983 version with the smash hit “Is There Something I Should Know”. They could’ve easily added it to the end of Side 2 to make 5 songs on each side. Other than that, I’m super happy with this. It’s About Time!!!

Good sound on my copy. Did notice a skip on Sound of Thunder which may be remedied with another good clean hence the four star review. Happy to see these classic (and essential) Duran albums back in print! It’ll replace my beat up OG copy
