Edited one month agoThis sounds and looks great, however, if you're using a conical stylus, it may have a hard time tracking Hard to Explain. My copy doesn't have any pops, clicks or surface noise, and the mastering is full bodied and punchy which is exactly what you need for an album like this. Fantastic reissue, but my only complaint would be the bare bones packaging. An insert of some sort would've been nice.
-
It sounds good. Nice dynamics. The Strokes'dirty sound goes well on vinyl. However, there are slight clicks when Hard To Explain starts. Other than that, a nice copy.
-
This release is cool w/ the red vinyl and alternate cover. Sonically though, on my system, r26226989 sounds better. More punch and the highs are clearer. This release sounds a little muffled to me.

Opened up a sealed copy and test played Hard to Explain. No skips. Guess I lucked out, entire album played through fine.
-
No complaints with my pressing. Didn't know if the VMP would ever be repressed, so decided to go with this from Amazon for $28. Dead quiet, dynamic pressing, and I have not experienced any skipping issues whatsoever. Definitely recommend.
-
Edited 9 months agoit's a close call sonically between the MOV and the VMP, I guess it depends on whether you want the glove cover (MOV) or the 2 extra tracks (VMP).
-
Mine sounds great, cleaned with an anti-static brush before playing and had no skips at all. Looks great too.
-
Weirdly enough I also had skipping on hard to explain, however i managed to iron them out by pressing down on the needle and essentially scraping over each skip (over 10). Probably ruined the quality a little, but there are no more skips at least.
-
I fond this pressing really good.No skipping or
Static problem.I have no other one to compare the sound but its looks good to me except some sibliance on side one second track.
I have to count the tracks to know If il's side 1 or 2
So l agree with Secondcity it sucks.
Anyway great album that I think I will like more and more.Good quality innersleeve too.
