I received my copy in the mail today. The first two albums are supposed to be gold-colored. My copy has record 1 in gold and record 2 in black. Anyone else see this?

Edited 2 months agoVery nice box, and the mastering is excellent, and the bonus material is essential....
At first I did not think the rehearsal audio would have replay value, but i've listened to it 6 or 7 times already! Fascinating stuff.
It is a bit strange that only 3 of the bonus tracks on the most recent cd master did not make it onto this however.

Edited one year agoGood mastering, ok pressing. Not sure why they changed to just pressing the original album in gold, when the early promo materials showed 2 gold LPs and 3 black.
Anyway, even after spin-cleaning, the main album in my set has some groove noise in one channel in a few spots. Aside from that, I still think my OG copy has more air and is more detailed.
The rest of the albums all sound great, aside from an occasional isolated pop in a couple of sides. Considering that most of the sides are 23-25+ minutes long, they're not cut any quieter and track perfectly on my setup. It's actually pretty amazing how BG managed this good of cuts for such long sides.
