Joni Mitchell – Court And Spark

Absolutely phenomenal pressing. I got this one because I love this remaster, and every copy of the green vinyl I got was covered in non-fill and rendered them unlistenable. My copy of this black pressing has no issues whatsoever. There is no non-fill, no clicks and pops, and the disc is flat and centred. For me this is the best pressing of Court and Spark - it's perfectly balanced, having nice bass presence without being muddy, and detailed without being shrill, with lovely separation too. Absolute perfection.

Amazing Bernie Grundmand pressing. Read some reviews here that a few people had issues with Side B. But none with mine. I guess it’s a bit of luck with which pressing you have. Mine was done in .

4th time lucky lol. I patiently persisted and got one without a disastrously noisy non filled side two that the first three copies had. Buying records shouldnt be this frustrating but this Optimal pressed series of Joni reissues has been a non filled journey of returns to get good ones. Now ive got a copy of this without the non fill on side two i can enjoy the Bernie mastering to the fullest extent. This copy is quiet and sounds lovely. Bernie has definately bought out the players more with Joni a little thinner and backstaged than ive heard. Its excellent though but one cant help but wonder that for remasters approced by her ladyship herself, she approved the version where she is not dominating the recording as much. Selfless and kind springs to mind!

I have also ordered the Mofi 1 Step and SACD and they will have to go some to beat Bernies work here!

Amazing pressing and beautiful record. Really love the cut from Bernie Grundmand

First record I received had a pressing defect. Second record is as close to perfect as one could hope for; flat, virtually no surface noise, pops, clicks, etc.. Voice is very clear. Perhaps, the record could sound a tad more airy. However, overall, it’s a lovely sounding pressing, with a very pleasant tonal balance. Listening System: Bryston amps between B&W 805 D3’s on Sound Anchor Stands and a Rega P6 with Ania Pro cart on a Quadraspire stand.

Superb pressing. Vinyl is clean, flat and quiet. Embossed gatefold is very nicely done. Mastering is perfect. No surface noise, non-fill or defects of any kind on my copy. Highly recommended.
