It sounds like there may be multiple "versions" of this release. Mine states "made in Canada." That's not necessarily a bad thing, but I will say the pressing for me leaves a lot to be desired. The pressing itself is very quiet, but with a LO MC cart, there is a disturbing number of tonal variabilities throughout the tracks. At times, voices sound as if they are in a tunnel, at others, cymbals are too forefront, etc. I'll be searching for a different pressing. Disappointed.

Edited 2 months agoUnbelievable clarity, but I can’t help but feel that the highs are just *ever* so slightly rolled off. Although most people like this, it left a little to be desired… I love highs piercing my ears like icicles 😅

I am trying to find out what copy I have. The sticker says “pressed at Furnace” rather than Pallas. Runout similar with the KPG & SH ATM. This is probably a reissue, but can’t find it on discogs and I can’t seem to find out the year of release. If anyone has come across the furnace pressing and knows more about it, would be appreciated. It sounds great and is 45 rpm.

Took a risk and picked this up a while ago at a Cracker Barrel restaurant. 180g. I also have the KPG & SH ATM etched in the runout. Couldn't really find out the difference between this issue and 1 more similarly marked release. Selected this one based on the pics of the labels.

My copy says KPG & SH ATM on the deadwax and it sounds great!! Found this copy used at a 2nd & Charles store. Silent pressing. Levels are loud and clear.

Edited 2 years agoComparing this to my 1977 German pressing, on Dreams in particular, the 2011 version has a softer sound with the instruments and singers placed further away from each other. Stevie Nicks voice seems back in space as well. The '77 German pressing has more punch with all the elements up front. The 2011 is certainly very clean but partially missing the presence and impact when A/B'ing the two. I proudly own both and enjoy the differing elements of each.

is this the Pallas pressed Gray/Hoffman mastering?
I'm getting confused by all the releases :( what is the best version you can get right now. which one has the best cost/sound ratio? -
-
Heads up, I just learned about a Pallas copy that states "Made in Canada" on the back of the cover. So I guess this means that this pressing is made in US, , and Canada? Kind of seems like there should be an entry made for each country of origin, no?

I have owned a few copies of this album and this is, without a doubt, the best pressing. The other versions sound muffled; but here, you can really hear the separation of the instruments and vocals. This is definitely the one to get.
