The best UKG 12" of all time? Both sides are absolute classics. Recently been repressed so can be picked up cheap too

Edited 7 years agoThere's been some highlights in the break-led UK Garage scene over the years, but this has to be one of the Crowning moments from Wookie. Everything's done right, baseline, percussion, soul; the organ riff's on the deep & deadly 'Down On Me' hark back to Gospel heritage, & it works great. 'Scrappy' tore clubs up a treat & both tracks haven't aged a wink. Treasure.

Gutted I 'lost' my white label copy of this years back. although I'm sure some lucky bastard has posession of it. EZ used to do a trick where he'd cut out the last 4 bars of Down on me then flip it over & play Scrappy from the start. A great double A-sider
