I liked this album a lot but the nagging sensation that she doesn't really have much originality but rather steals a lot from others. This lp could easily artistically have been a Mathew Barney project both in sound and visuals. But hey, I did enjoy it if slightly let down by how good the gabba track could have been but wasn't.

Is she doing a super deluxe version of this album like she did with the bird caller version of her last project?

I bought the supposed 2023 Repress with new mixes to some of the tracks, through Björk’s website on February, 11th! It is said this Repress to be out on March 17th…
But I received today, February 15th! It’s absolutely equal to the others referring to gatefold…. Or blue round sticker!
No 2023 mentioned!
The only new to this new edition - so it seems - is a sticker with the barcode 5016958102500!
I need OLI to confirm this is in fact the 2023 Repress and why is available a month before as stated… -
I find it extremely stressful to find my way through all the different masters and misprints.
I own the initial hardcover CD and burgundy vinyl pressing now, as well as the misprinted cassette with the wrong track sequence on side B.
Trying to get a replacement for the clear cassette as well as the turquoise cassette which probably has the final master (?).
I also just ordered the gatefold CD with the initial master and then I try to replace my hardcover CD version with the updated one. Still thinking about getting the final master of the vinyl as well.
My head is exploding :D -
I got the US gatefold card sleeve (tplp1485cd1). The card sleeve for the CD does not fit the gatefold pocket - It's basically loose in between the gatefold. Either you put a rubber band around it or lose either one or put the cd in the gatefold pocket. The designer/s need to learn how to use a ruler and basic packaging.

Still utterly bonkers and this time with added sub-bass! (SA)
I don’t get on with Bjork’s voice sadly. I wish I did. I’ve tried. I just find it too limited in range and expression. My loss. I hope my cloth ears will open one day. (CB) -
Hello. Can anyone tell me what is the best edition (sound) on vinyl? I don't care about the color! Thank you so much!

I don't understand the negative reviews! it's the project that I like the most as a whole since at least volta or biophilia even if I love vulnicura! utopia was really too experimental and unlistenable in one go... the whole thing is just brilliant and I love the concept, the photos are magnificent and the 54 minutes too quickly which means that I had to listen to the album 50 times for 15 days...
-
At the time of her previous release "Utopia", a wrote on Metacritic - "Listen to Bjork crawl into a cave and rub herself with crystals and moss.” This statement perfectly summerises the predictably unpredictable Björk back with "Fossora" and there it is - "a rave party in the fungi underground"... adding to it her many fans showering the album with lazy over-the-top praise, while her (fan) collectors continue to review the quality of the vinyl pressings...
On the good side, there are interesting moments here and there - but sadly, as is the case with Björk ever since "Biophilia" (that one included), she is just further stuck in her bubble and while topics sure build on a noble premise, "Fossora" is still a tiresome listening experience, with ideas half-baked and drenched in strings / choir / vocal / horns as a cover-up, while the main ingredient that is her trademark singing once quirky and intriguing, is now even more tiresome on top of it all.
If you're curious - go ahead, but if you need not, you won't be missing much - apart from the hype which only makes the emperor's new clothes more obvious and the prediction by the aforementioned Metacritic reviewer more believable...
She did fuck all previously, and to much greater effect. This, once the (weird) sounds scratch beneath the surface for you - the artwork included - is just another exaggerated costume fantasy. -
