Although released anonymously, Japanese Telecom is almost certainly the work of the same person responsible for Dopplereffekt (and Arpanet, for that matter). The composition style, effects, and sounds used are so similar to Dopplereffekt that if it isn't the same person, then Japanese Telecom is a rip-off artist. Although there are rumors, I think the connections to Drexciya are much more tenuous. Drexciya's musical style is really pretty dissimilar to either Japanese Telecom or Dopplereffekt. Anyway, it's hard to tell when the artists are so anonymous. For a long time Drexciya was the work of two men, so it's possible the guy from Dopplereffekt had something to do with it, but there's no real evidence of that, in my opinion.

Debuting on Detroit's Intuit Solar last year, the mystic Japanese Telecom deliver a versatile ten-track release taking us on a technological journey from Dusseldorf to Detroit and Tokyo. Sizzling Kraftwerk style electro elements, futuristic motor-city techno visions and the new-age pop sensibility of Japan's neon culture. From full-fledged electrified techno to sublime electro robotix, this is truly something not to be missed
