Gatefold jacket looks great.
The colored vinyl looks great. Both discs are nice and flat.
Let's talk sound quatlity... The vinyl plays quiet with no wonky surface noise, no scratchy sounds, no pops... The low end is tight and punchy. It could be a tiny bit thicker, but hey... it's MEGADETH. Mids and Highs are crisp and clear. Overall good balance from top to bottom. Sounds great cranked up (the mids and highs are absolutely not overbearing).
Absolutely killer Megadeth album! -
I bought this version NEW at my local record store earlier this month, so it seems it is in wider circulation now and not a Walmart exclusive.

Edited one year agoFor whomever is a fan of Megadeth, this album is a treat from start till end. Great Mustaine songwriting. Why should Megadeth do something radically new? The cook book delivers delicious dishes so I'm happy to enjoy them. Those looking for something new should check the intro of the track Mission to Mars. First time Megadeth uses synths, and together with the bass it serves as a great intro. There's also some samples in the middle of the track, which is a new thing for Megadeth. The song takes some interesting twists. The last track We'll be Back must be the heaviest song Megadeth has ever produced, pure power and speed metal. At least with this great sound. Could be an Annihilator track. This is easily the best sounding metal vinyl I bought in the past couple years. The sound is astonishing. Perfect studio work and procuction, perfect pressing and the colours of the vinyl, especially the second, are gorgeous. I think there are people critisizing this album simply because they are bored with Megadeth, but that's just because they are bored, it doesn't mean in any way the album is boring. Really the contrary. It's a fantastic Megadeth journey any true fan will intensively enjoy. I wish they'd press Rust in Peace, Countdown to Extinction and Youthanasia, Cryptic Writings and Risk on such formidastic vinyl!

Edited one year agoDave Mustaine continues to deliver the goods
Released in 2022, THE SICK, THE DYING… AND THE DEAD is the sixteenth studio album by Los Angeles’ Megadeth. It’s dynamic with several highlights, like the opening title track; “Night Stalkers” with it’s bass break; the great “Dogs of Chernobyl”; and the well-done “Sacrifice.” That’s all in the first half of the opus! Meanwhile "Debutante" is a notable thrasher on the second half.
While Dave’s band lagged behind Metallica in the 80s, modern Megadeth is superior to modern Metallica. I’d listen to this any day over the dull 72 SEASONS.
The twelve tracks clock-in at 55 minutes. In addition, there are a couple of bonus tracks that cover the Dead Kennedys (a profanity-strewn dittie) and Sammy Hagar.
GRADE: B/B+

Just wondering if anyone has compared the black and coloured pressings for difference in sound quality 🤔
-
Just an FYI for Canadians (SW Ontario anyway) - this is the same variant this is the Sunrise Records exclusive. The hype sticker doesn’t say the colours though. When I asked the staff about it, they needed to Google the UPC to see what it was.

It seems that is a powerful work by Megadeth. I´ve just listen first record and 45rpm and it is a 12 over ten rating for this Heavy metal device. Stunning Loureiro guitar working, the tamdem with Mustaine has been killer and productive . I hope that they continue to working together because the result so far is fantastic. The best Heavy metal album done lately, along with the Senjutsu by Maiden.
