Not SW best by a stretch Sky Moves Sideways is the pinnacle for SW and PT but this one has its moments and charm like many have cared to articulate. The Beatles influence is minimal thank god! More prog ie Floyd influence here but many of the songs have nice dynamics soft moments and really creative musicianship other tracks are weak and Wilson's voice sounds poorly recorded not sure again if this was intentional. At the end of the day these where compiled from early low budget home recordings but I must give Mr. Wilson kudo's for even his early compositions have a special sound that would later be THE Porcupine Tree signature layered keyboards, use of space and eerie science fiction cinema-scapes. Nice remaster of the cd and a glimpse of what was later to become a wonderfully powerful prog (at least in the early days) rock band.

It has its moments, but parts of this are just total bollocks, I don’t get the hype, when music is played it is good but when they start fuckin about then it gets pretentious..
