my copy is beat to shit (VG) and still sounds fab, excluding some crackles occasionally that get drowned out by how loud it's cut. pretty cheap to pick up too.

it's kinda crazy to think the generation that owned this originally is nearing the end of their lives

Dedicated MONO-mixes sound nice, with crunchy punchy fidelity & terrific clarity. It just sounds tight & cohesive, with the 60 year-old vinyl surprisingly quiet even after probably 1000 plays by the previous owner...

If your looking for a more budget friendly at the moment "with the Beatles" specifically for North American buyers this is a great pressing to buy. Well balanced and smooth sound all around. This pressing does sound very close to my -6/-6 1963 UK mono press and would recommend anyone to buy it.

I love the Capitol-6000 Canadian Beatles albums! Paul White, A&R man at Capitol Canada, saw the potential in The Beatles in early 1963, when Capital American kept turning down their right of first refusal for the band's US production and distribution. (Which is why Vee-Jay and Swan were their first U.S. labels.) Canadian Beatles records were months ahead of U.S. releases at first, until Capitol America realized it was losing revenue to imports and demanded Canada get in synch with them.

The record sounds great in mono, even almost 70 years later.

The is an excellent sounding pressing of these particular tracks. Possibly all tube signal path in the mastering process? The “in mono” box set beats this one but only by a little to my ears.

This is the first Beatles album released in North America months before there appearance on the Ed Sullivan show. The album was cut from a UK Parlaphone master tape dub.
