It's great to have this on record.
Agreed, not audiophile quality, but a simple A/B with the tidal max version still gives the record the win. Just wait till No Regrets absolutely takes over your room.
A really clean pressing that I think we should all feel pretty lucky to even have. -

I was pleasantly surprised by this pressing, it sounds very nice. It's not an 'audiophile' recording, but it comes across very well on vinyl. Universal actually put in some effort put in here - in addition to the quiet vinyl, the gatefold sleeve and printed inner sleeve are both of very high quality.
-
The artwork looks great on this and the pressing is flat and centred. The mastering is competent rather than breathtaking but I doubt this was ever exactly a hi-fi enthusiast's record to begin with and at least there's no distortion or non-fill or anything like that. Not sure about the quality control though - I had to get both of these albums exchanged because of a damaged sleeve on one and a factory scratch on the other. The replacements had damage of their own but luckily there was at least one intact version of each component by the end! Same story for all but one of the new records I've bought in the last six months - at least one exchange before I got a decent copy. Guess the plants are all over-capacity and struggling to keep up with demand?

In my opinion, it is not Robbie Williams' best album. Unfortunately, the sound is not good either. His first album "Life truh a lense" has a much better sound.

Edited 3 years agoSide A is off centered. But anyway the vinyl has a great sound quality and no surface noise. Pressed by GZ
