Not saying anything new here by saying this sounds great, but I will say that even on a lower-end (but not bogus) system like mine, I was able to tell the difference between this and the 2009 Music On Vinyl press almost immediately. The bass on this is RICH and the midrange is lively. Each instrument has plenty of room to shine. I think its only a couple more dollars retail than the MOV so if you're on the fence the price difference is 100% worth it. As for the music itself, I think this is one of the best albums ever made. Everyone should own this.

Edited 4 months ago100% analog remastered of this classic pressed at QRP. What more could anyone want. It’s phenomenal. Not the fancy gatefold jacket many new releases have been coming with, but it’s the sound that matters and this sounds fantastic.

Edited 11 months agoI also had a original Pitman pressing that sounded great, but choose to keep the Acoustic Sounds 33 over it after comparison, just a bit more refined and smooth but still the magic of the original. Some like the AS 45 even more, but I'm too lazy to get up and change 45 sides. I ed the original press on to the local shop who sold it the same day. Side 2 is underrated

Edited 3 months agoI requested this for a gift, Xmas 2023 and I received it! Acoustic Sounds does a nice job packing their shipments, this needs to be mentioned- the attention to detail was perfect. The record is amazing and everything I hoped for. So glad to have this in my collection.

I’ve been deep listening to this record on a semi-regular basis for 20+ years with a clean 1973 Pitman pressing as my go-to copy. Upgraded to this press based on the great reviews and even on my modest setup the AP pressing is a remarkable improvement over the Pitman.
On “Chameleon” alone, each instrument is so much more defined and detailed to reveal nuances and complexities within the groove that give you the feel of hearing to this album for the first time. An unexpectedly emotional listening experience.
If you dig this album and have the means to spring for a $40 LP, don’t hesitate.

No skips but a little hum at the start of side A. But a bit disappointing for me is that’s not as big upgrade compared to the MOV pressing as I expected.

My go to album to test my system - if I listen to a bad quality record, I put on side one to remind myself what a great record should sound like. Absolutely zero noise, and might just be placebo but I really feel like this sounds better than any digital copy of the album I've heard. Would give 6 stars if I could

Having read numerous comments about a hanging skip on side A, I went into this very skeptical. However, I was very pleased. The record was quiet and is is by far the definitive version of Head Hunters for me personally!

Sounds phenomenal. Each instrument seems tangible. Crystal highs, nice round lows, and pure grooviness in between.
