Edited 2 years agoThe soulfulness of this recording is nothing short of amazing. In my opinion it also has a very nice sound signature. Yes, the ensemble is large and you don`t hear every single player seperately, but I don`t think that is even the point of it, quite the opposite. It is playing and singing together, enjoying each other musician and that is what you can hear!
I got a sealed deadstock copy, and while it was not cheap, I`m really glad I got it. Pressing quality of this original Nimbus is very good, and it is a honor and a pure pleasure to drop the needle to the surface of this magical document.

Edited 6 years agoReissue incoming from Soul Jazz on 05.04.19 - triple vinyl with bonus track, and "The Call" to follow.......
Both also reissued by Outernational Sounds - WTF is going on? -
I think this is one of the best records on the Nimbus West label, but the recording quality is of a poor standard.
The music and musicians play great uplifting music but the recording does not capture the essence of the individual players.
A studio would have provided better acoustics, but the band was too large for a studio setting.
