Tres Demented – Demented

Another gem by Carl Craig (Tres Demented). I really like this track, Demented (or Just Crazy) especially with the duo of Carl Craig & Laurent Garnier combining their talents to make it the highly energized House track it is. I've found it to be a great song for all crowds & have had great success with it. The energy starts from jump street & continues throughout this track.

“Hah, haah haah haaah Uuuhh!” Whoever listens to this sublime, powerful “Demented (Or Just Crazy)” version by Laurent Garnier & Carl Craig will be frightened by these growls in dub and its intense, contagious and insane atmosphere. Played by most of the talented and open minded DJs in 2003 – such as Laurent Garnier himself, Mau Mau, Nisek and Stacey Pullen, this tune became almost instantly an anthem of the contemporary underground dance music.
Some tribal, pulsating beats appear on the very beginning like a kind of a trade mark of Carl Craig's music - followed by hypnotic, growling vocals whose echoes seem to evoke the most pure of the human instincts. These sounds of tribal perspective penetrate deeply into our minds, and are then adorned by tiny electronic effects, a kind of a preparation for the first drop which comes with a growing emphasis on the bass lines and a kind of rising sharp-penetrating siren sound that makes everybody shudder. The men starts to shout louder and louder, and the beats go stronger up to the total apocalypses.
This masterpiece has definitely a perfect sense of drop in & drop out timing. The harsh, chaotic hypnosis keeps everybody deeply connected to the tune, and all of a sudden comes the drop out with absolute silence in the middle of the track, leaving the listeners with a strange feeling that much more has to come. The wild screams in dub appear again from time to time, and then become more frequent, louder and more intense, together with pumping kicks and the mad siren completes the final drop, driving the dancefloors crazy again!
At least, a fantastic piece of art made for the highest-demaning audiences - to dance and to listen.

Oh, what a marvelous piece of work did the masters Carl Craig and Laurent Garnier here! Simply outstanding...
I really don't what calls my attention the most: the dub elements, the smashing beats, or the psycho screams, totally out of usual. I heard Stacey Pullen playin' it for the first time, about two years ago, at D-Edge Club, and it was gorgeous!

Definitely one of the more intense releases of recent memory. It reminds me a lot of DBX's "I'm Losing Control" and that's one of the things I love about it. Top marks to Monsuiers Garnier & Craig.

This one has been clearly inspired by the 1979 tribal monster "Anger" by Rinder & Lewis on their album "Warriors" on AVI Records.

Rolling percussions, crazy guys screaming, and some animal-alike sounds. All the same.

God that Laurent Garnier mix just kills me. If this record doesn't work people into a froth I don't know what will. Perfect for igniting anything it comes in with. Like we needed another reminder why Carl is bad ass, but then with the crazy mix it just makes it that much more apparent. Carls mixes are more subdued, but just as demented and worthy of attention but the crazy mix, Carl is bad ass.

the laurent garnier mix is insane! the samples (what are they, psycho's? ;) ) really rub that beat in your face. it is incredibly energizing and refreshing, and it would totally work on the dancefloor.
the other tracks? well, imagine jeff mills live on the 909, but then replace the nine's with eights...
