I must be one of the lucky ones because I got a good copy. Yeah there's a little bit of rumble while it's playing (more pronounced on Side B than Side A), but the sound quality is stellar with no distortion or other artifacts whatsoever. I did have to clean it the first time I took it out of the sleeve though, it was a bit dirty.

Side 2 on my copy sounds distorted. Like the speed of the turntable is not all there. It's definitely not the turntable. Had anyone had that experience?

Negative out of the way first. The record had a lot of visual contamination on opening and was so static it pulled its on inner sleeve inside out removing it, Wanted try a play without cleaning but it didn't look like a safe option. Wet vacuum clean removed all particles and fingerprints but some scuffs remained.

On play after cleaning, it sounded amazing, 9/10 for sound. Never heard an original, but this seemed plenty bright and trebly to me. If the original had even more I'm glad they toned it down.

i recently visited a shop in LA that had both the twofer in stock and then about a month later got in two originals of this album and radio city. I listened through the twofer and the OG copy of radio city. they both sounded super bright and punchy. wish i had the money to buy them but alas i did not lol. Ive only ever owned the concord reissues from 2009 (non barcode versions) and honestly these sound pretty close to what i heard in that shop... main difference were they werent AS bright as the originals. Ive yet to purchase these Craft reissues but maybe soon ill pull the trigger if only to see what all the fuss is about.

Mine has really noisy vinyl. Sounds like a thunderstorm, and it intrudes into quiet ages of music.

Have been through 3 copies that all had non-fill distortion on B6.

I had to get a replacement for my first copy, as it was badly off-center, and warbled significantly. Second copy, the surface of the record has a lot of discoloration and spots on it, and the grooves are almost white under lighting. As a result there is a good bit of surface noise in those spots. I ultrasonic clean all my records, and it made no impact on those issues. Decided to just deal with it.

My review of ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ is solely on the mastering and jacket quality. Sound is loud and dynamic, well balanced. Jeff Powell did an amazing job. Heavy cardboard jacket with a high gloss finish. If this is still in print take a risk and get it. Hopefully mine was just a bad batch issue and few other have the same problem.

If only every reissue could be this close to perfection. The music sounds absolutely fantastic. It's a great sounding slab of wax. Zero surface noise. Even the album jacket is heavy duty cardboard, glossy and gorgeous. One of the true gems in my vinyl collection, and highly recommended. I can't imagine anyone being less than thrilled with this if they're a Big Star fan.

I just watched the documentary about Big Star, and it led me back to this record. It’s such an incredibly great pressing. When I wanna show people how warm and delicious vinyl can sound I just put on “Thirteen” from this album. If you’re reading reviews wondering whether or not to buy this particular pressing...wait no longer! Oh, and of course it’s one of the greatest albums ever made.

I don't have an original do compare but that doesn't give me amy second thoughts at all with this ALL ANALOG reissue. I can hear extremelly live sound as it should. Flawless. So happy with this quality. The only issue is that this will put down 99.9% of the other reissues.
