My copy has been stamped on the back in the top left corner "FOR EXPORT ONLY". Does anyone else have this? I'm assuming some (or all?) of these Winchester repressings were designated for Export markets. I bought it in Japan.

Edited 7 years agomaybe this is common but never seen if before record 1 has side 1 and 4 on it and record 2 has 2 and 3 on it. i find it odd.
side note some tracks are amazing others are a let down just a few tracks sound off. -

Answered my own question. I had this mixed up with another two-disc set, _High Water_. http://discogs.programascracks.com/Beach-Boys-High-Water/release/1284791

Is there any vinyl version of this that has "Heroes and Villains" on it? I'm going crazy trying to figure out where I heard it around 1976. I could have sworn _Endless Summer_ was the only Beach Boys album I had at the time, but "Heroes and Villains" is not on the track list of the copy I ordered and just received, nor on any track list I can find on the internet. I see it's on _Sounds of Summer_, but that was apparently released in 2003. What albums was it on in 1976? Am I hallucinating or getting senile? Thanks!

The original USA double and the UK 10 per side (tight gpi and thus quiet) 20 tracks came with the Salmon Pink and Green Capitol text logo labels. The USA release was cut for auto changer play Disc 1 sides 1 & 4 Disc 2 sides 2 & 3 the UK single disc was Side 1 USA 1 & 2 Side 2. USA 3 & 4 neither releases specified the all important audio modes/status esp regarding the Beach Boys the tracks are as follows.
Disc 1 (Side 1)
1. Mono
2. Stereo
3. Stereo
4. Stereo
5. Mono
Disc 2 (Side 2)
1. Stereo
2. Stereo
3. Stereo
4. Mono
5. Stereo
Disc 1 (Side 3)
1. Mono
2. Stereo
3. Stereo
4. Mono - Duophonic
5. Stereo
Disc 2 (Side 4)
1. Mono - Duophonic
2. Mono - Duophonic
3. Mono
4. Mono - Duophonic
5. Mono - Duophonic
Track Breakdown: 10 True Stereo :5 Mono :5 Mono - Duophonic
(ie you get half a good album with side 4 being a total let down sonically.)
The Duophonics are sonically awful but are in essence superior to the ones created for the Spitit Of America 23 Double compilation.
(Personal note: I hope this factual track audio modes/status is of use to I feel that I am mealy adding and enhancing the original listing not faulting it).
