I like emeralds and have listened and owned many of their other releases. This is a little overhyped IMHO. Not much here but two noisy tracks (wall of noise) it's not penetrating my dome all that well at this point, I don't hear the hype. Kind of overpriced for what you get here. Nothing to special here. The pressing is pretty shitty too at least mine is, littered with pops, clicks and noise. It's doesn't matter that much once it gets going because it's basically a wall of noise anyway.

EMERALDS are three guys who love to make multi-layered, roaring textures old-school synth/guitar ambient noise rock. In teh two tracks on this CD, John Elliots and Steve Hauschildt's awesome swirling keyboards and synths (what sound like a Moog) mesh with Mark McGuire's brilliangt guitar work... creating a wall of sound that both meserizes and thrills the listener (at least this listener -- someone who loves Lou Reed's "Metal Machine Music" LP). Two tables piled high with synth and a guitar grind out some nice live drone (captures in a Cleveland, Ohio pub).
