Just bought this version of the single and compared it to the later cream-cover version. Here both songs on side A and B sound livelier and more engrossing (what a nice surprise)! The sound quality is great on both versions but as far as performance is concerned, it seems like the band no longer liked playing these songs (to the point of boredom) when they re-recorded them for the second time. And the aggressive mid-range guitar sound on the later version is not pleasant for the ear. I can honestly say that I appreciated the song Ceremony for the first time only when I got the green-sleeve edition of the single. Who would have known…

Edited 6 years agoHappy to read the great reviews about this edition! Please someone can tell me if the edition sale in the US is the european import edition? I'm about to buy online and I would like to know before I pull the trigger. Thanks!

Only the best song ever made reissued on two vinyl singles!!! I had looked at trying to buy this last year and prices were about $100 for a good quality copy. This is a great move on the labels part. Hopefully it starts a trend!

Edited 6 years agoBeyond thrilled they re-released this 12" single. I've only heard In a Lonely Place on the Substance CD, so hearing it on vinyl for the first time - and with such clarity and excellence in remastering, is beyond anything I could have hoped for. Ceremony is the best I've heard it here, too. Everything from the matte jacket and thick inner sleeve to the hunter green label against the blacker than black vinyl - it's a thing of beauty. I'm looking forward to the other releases from the Movement era, and HOPING they'll do the same for Power, Corruption and Lies, and beyond!

Very happy with this purchase. My copy is sturdy and flat with absolutely no surface noise to speak of. The remaster is full and crisp and has me very excited for the remasters of some of the slightly better produced tracks from this era. The inner and outer artwork is faithfully reproduced on a nice stock.
