I really would not have expected it but i have compared this vinyl with its Hi Res streaming version and vinyl sounds better.
I find it counter-intuitive, because usually, based on experience from my collection, analog music may sound better on vinyl, but usually not digital recordings, especially from major artists and big production.
However i it this record sounds unexpectedly better and more authentic than its digital version.
My guess is maybe there is a better mastering on the record or maybe they have cut frequencies on the digital version and not on the record.
Anyway, it sounds absolutely fantastic! -
Edited 2 years agoMy copy is 4/5. Side A is amazing barely heard any surface noise. Side B got many pops along 'Shallow'. The second disc is generally good. It is a great film, a great soundtrack. -
Edited 3 years agoI previously bought the US version but it was full of cracks and pops. Also the packaging was thin and coming apart. So I ended up returning it. I ordered the EU version here on Discogs and I am happy to say, it's flawless - both the sound and the packaging (gatefold) - Get this one! -

This version of the LP is fantastic! It includes the gorgeous photo prints, but it also includes the uncensored dialogue from the film. I had to go out of my way to find this uncensored version. I don't now about anyone else, but I'm not a shrinking violet. I don't need to have my records "cleaned up" for me. If they drop the F bomb in the dialogue it's for a good reason (scene 98!) and shouldn't be turned into a beep. ...now that I'm off my soapbox, I was amazed at how fantastic this soundtrack is! It really flows well and the songs, of course, are superb. Still not a fan of the two "pop" songs on side 3 ("Why did you Do That" and "Hair Body Face") because they feel out of place to me (feels like Gaga singing Gaga songs instead of being Ally) but the rest of the LP is a real smash! Definitely a keeper!! ....and...Bradley Cooper can SING. Seriously, Who knew. WOW -
Saw the film - bought the soundtrack! Absolutely brilliant - I'll be off to see the film again soon. Both Cooper and Lady Gaga were excellent - Oscar nominations???
