awesome pressing! played it as soon as it arrived at my house and was pleasantly surprised at how crisp it was.

Fantastic sounding record. I'd prefer this over the new Mofi 45RPM One-Step pressing since flipping a record every two songs kills the vibe. The distinctive percussive sound heard on the Mercy Mercy Me track ( a wood block struck by a rubber mallet) is especially transcendent. I never really picked up on it with other releases i've heard of this album. One of the best albums ever recorded.

Edited 7 years agoAmpex indicates 1st Canada pressing (in this case) that is thicker than the comparable USA pressing of same vintage. It also has full dynamic range, some USA early pressings (and possibly others) are shunted at 19KHZ. Ampex went bankrupt in mid 70s.
