I bought the CD 25 years ago, the day it was released, and am happy to have this collection on vinyl! There are edited versions of New Years Day and Where the Streets Have No Name, but stuff like that is expected on Best Of compilations. One Tree Hill is a welcome addition for vinyl that is not on the CD. A great basic 80s collection with the big hits, but I recommend all of the U2 albums from 1980-2004. Been a fan for 40 years but nothing after 2004/2005 has interested me much. -
I don't have any other U2 albums so I bought this compilation. Can't say I'm disappointed, but many of the songs don't really jump out at you sonically. Perhaps the originals were like that? The recording is at a lower level too, so I really have to increase volume beyond normal range to get the songs to really perform. When you get the volume up there is a nice sound, nice bass and detailed presentation, just not blown away by this. I expected U2 recordings to be at the highest level, but this falls a bit shy.

This is the best I’ve ever heard these songs. Great quality pressing, no noise after being cleaned. Fantastic release.
