I never had this album but have/have had all these tracks on those various artists box sets. Nothing to add from my end, check reviews below.

This is one of Jake Stephenson's album that goes beyond imagination.
The really trippy artwork is the first thing you notice, as it's a sample of what you're going to hear. A trip to another place, away from the one you're living, distincted by it's strange colours and creatures that live on it, ready for you to explore.
So, most of the album, if not all, is full of quality melodies that deliver that psychedelic feel along with some quite well matching samples that Jake often uses, and soft beats accompanied by twerping effects. All these combined to make you dream/trip/relax/whatever. And it really works.
Try hearing Exotic Ocean, you get that feeling of being in "that somewhere else" where everything looks vivid and joyful, Shimmer where you just have to relax on those crystal sounds, Marijuana where you actually start laughing after the sample but later you get driven off with that amazing melody, and then Water where you think you are in a far, isolated Chinese/Japanese place...
Just pop this album on your hi-fi and feed your brain with truly mindblowing images and trips.
A truly masterpiece IMO that is worth getting it as sometimes it's so simple and sometimes a little bit more complicated, plus it's one of the best album's this man has created.
So as the above wrote, rest in peace Jake!

Edited 4 years agoJake Stephenson at his peak!
This is what the Kinetix sound was all about: trippy, spacey, floating, multi-layered trance/ambient, with a very unique touch.
This album is somewhat a blend of Stephenson's first album as Alien Mutation, MicrocosmMacrocosm, and the more trancey sounds he made as Optica and Optic Eye. It is shortly said ambient trance, or perhaps 'mushroom trance'. Most of the tracks have a slow, soft and steady 4x4-beat, but the focus is always on the warm and melodic, yet deeply psýchedelic atmospheres. There are tons of spaced-out effects, fitting just perfectly. This album was made for listening to as a whole, but if I have to pick one favourite, then it has to be track 3, "Exotic Ocean".
Rest in peace, Jake!
