I tracked this down because of the euphonium! A great session with some amazing players. Would LOVE to see a Tone Poet pressing of this record done. 🤞🏽

I agree with a few others that this would be a perfect Tone Poet candidate. But until then we have these pressings to tide us over.
And this is quite a good pressing to be honest. Everything sounds clear and vibrant. Quite a reasonable sound stage and those low horns really work well as arranged by Duke Pearson. A good solid mid tier Hank Mobley session well worth having if you’ve already got his better known records.
The covers for this Liberty series rightfully have their detractors but this one is better than some I’ve seen. -

This is indeed a special album. One of my favorite Blue Note sessions ever and I think it’s because of the inclusion of the euphonium and also Duke Pearson’s arrangements. Side A is solid gold throughout. Although on permanent loan from my old college radio station, it gets far more rotation now.
