Edited 2 months agoGreat pressing, as dynamic as an Oasis record will sound anyway. Having revisited it recently the album has aged well and sounds better today than it did on release in my opinion. Probably in hindsight my favourite post 90's Oasis release

Purchased this one new and it did not include the 12 x 12 insert. Anyone else's not include it as well?
-
Straight out of the shrink wrap this was a good song, bad song album unlike their Creation period, but contemporaneous old-Wembley gigs were insane.
-
I didn't quite enjoy this album back when it was released in 2000 as I was still in the maze of the band's straight forward rock & roll style. The first impression of this one is like 'these guys are going back to the psychedelic era, what the heck!?'?.' Hey, we all know that things are changing consistently so does your fave music taste. I can say this is the best Oasis album made by real grown up adults.

The first Oasis serious record. Under the crisis for going away, Noel (mostly) & Liam managed to come up with the first non-commercial "The Verve-esque" album. Surely some mistakes from their own - including "Little James" as a track (not as a b-side) and having some b-sides not as album tracks ("Carry Us All"). The stunning track is the last one, "Roll it over", being one of the most of my favourite Oasis tracks ever. Poorly mastered, as any Oasis album manages to be, this one deserves a remaster treatment.

Edited 7 years agoI think it's my favourite Oasis LP purely for the trippiness and on-point musicianship.
Who Feels Love? is a banger and Liam sounds great. Watch his recent Glastonbury performance singing Rock 'n Roll Star to see that he has now lost the energy for this type of music (too old and sober!) -
This is a great album.
Some songs should have been b sides, while the b sides should have been on the album.
I love this one and YES even Little James. It's not great, but it's very trippy.
As far as I'm concerned it's a must own.
Roll It Over is one of their best songs -
I find it amusing that this album is starting to gain demand. When it came out it was rightly lauded as poor. Oasis were in a nutshell, off their heads for all the wrong reasons and not making their best music at all. Compared to their first two albums it was a downhill slide into very less than average music. Sure Noel Gallagher still could and can pen a properly decent tune here and there, and the band can play too, but this album was not good at all.
I seeing piles of this album in literally every record store in West London going for silly sale prices. Still no one was buying. Nostalgia purchase only. I bet it'll cost a fortune..
