This isnt actually a promo but an identical copy of the black vinyl pressing as the catalogue numbers are also identical to the black vinyl comercial issue.

It is identical to the standard black vinyl UK pressing except my blue vinyl copy came with no album sleeve or inners. The etchings in run out groove mirror the black vinyl.

I guess it was just pressed by someone who wanted to press a few coloured vinyl copies at the pressing plant. Very few copies would of been pressed i would guess no more than 25!).

I managed to pick up the blue vinyl promo of this fantastic LP at a record fair in Brighton in 1992. It came in a blue Big Life 'House bag' with the same centre labels as the regular vinyl release. The copy appeared mint when I bought it, no post marks around the centre hole, and no finger marks or dust on the vinyl. However from the first time I played it there was noticeable background crackle present. Not so loud as to be annoying but unmissable.

I have wondered if this was a pressing problem, the quality of the coloured vinyl used or simply a defect my personal copy. However I've not come across anyone else with this version of the LP so I've not been able to compare.

Regardless, I personally rather like a little surface noise, it rather compliments this style of ambient/dub music!
