Für die größte Überraschung am Ende des vergangenen Jahres sorgte die amerikanische Gruppe Sugarhill Gang Band mit ihrer Single "Funk You Up" Part 2 (ganz im Stil von "Rappers Delight"). Dieser außerordentlich rhythmische Sprechgesang begeisterte schon 1965 die Musikfans in Amerika, als Shirley Ellis ihren "Clapping Song" und "The Name Game" veröffentlichte und damit wochenlang in den Hitcharts vertreten war. Bei "Funk You Up" Part 2 wird kaum jemand seine Füße ruhig halten können.
