Nothing wrong with this LP that belongs alongside the pantheon of JA’s late 60’s classics.
Solid release from US-psych's premier power couple (w/ all-star local SF/West Coast rock ‘friends’).
Kinda early 70's counter-culture SF style jammy hippie sci-fi folk-psych-rock w/ lots of multitracked sing-a-long choruses, acoustic strumming, fuzzy lead guitars, chordal piano runs & electronic sound effects while extolling the charms of rural life & domesticity.
Unfairly maligned creative effort. -
Out of my massive collection of vinyl this has to be the thinnest record i own, it feels like it might as well be a flexi disc. Sounds great though.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I find this album stunningly boring. The vocals and lyrics are fine but the instrumentals are just so damn boring and lifeless. The biggest issue is the mix tho. It's like they just shoved all the instruments back and brought the vocals and some acoustic guitar to the forefront. Sounds like a wall of pillows between the band and the vocalists.

really great music, fantastic guest features & beautiful lyrics. all together a wonderful record, and what an awesome way to celebrate their (at the time) new born daughter!! so sweet!
-
Ain't heard any other versions to compare, but my ears are telling me this is a more than decent remaster.
-
Baby on the cover is Paul and Grace's daughter and subject of "China" song, for those too young to know or who missed it the first time around.

There is an another version of back cover http://i.imgur.com/DISDZqZ.jpg and it says 07863 67418-2. But all catalogues say this number is for Baron Von Tollbooth & The Chrome Nun. Design is similar for these two back covers.
