Vic did his best, but this album always sounds like it was mastered to cassette tape to my ears. The bonus track recorded and mixed during the sessions for the album, 'Fire of Unknown Origin' sounds better than the rest of the album. Shame they apparently don't have equal quality master tapes for the main tracks. The newly mixed 'Sally' sounds good too.

I was able to speak with an owner of this reissue. He could tell me he bought it new between 1980 and 1990.

Totally disagree with the review below, and would argue they had a setup issue.
Just a/b this exact copy with lossless digital and it pretty easily bested it in detail and punch. Not getting any of harshness they are talking about. Buy with confidence

Any good? Seems maybe a silly purchase to get it on blue vinyl when there's 9 million original pressings out there and I know Friday music doesn't have the highest reputation... I have a Friday Music Byrds 5th Dimension on colored vinyl that actually sounds a little more "full frequency" than a clean original that I have (my mono copy kicks both their asses though LOL). My Agents of Fortune here needs an upgrade...🐺

Nice sounding piece of vinyl! Plays quiet (right before the guitar solo in Reaper, it's dead quiet). Good balanced mix. I have no other pressings of this album to compare against, but it does almost feel like it's mixed a little quiet. That said, it sounds really good when you crank it up.

What if no MCR (Master Cutting Room) matrices? Any sonic difference from pressings cut by MCR?

My runouts match this copy but only has a single sleeve jacket, not a gatefold. Is it possible that early releases didn’t have the gatefold?

the photos of the record labels (made in Holland?) are incorrect, i'll the ones from my copy asap.
