Tori Amos – Boys For Pele

It's been a long time since I've had a clean record that I didn't have to wash first, which is unfortunately rare these days. Great mastering, Sound is superb.

My first experience of this album was with the CD that had the Tornado remix of Talula. Then, I got the vinyl remaster in 2016, which I loved. But, someone in a vinyl group I’m in commented on how amazing this pressing is.

Curiosity got the best of me, and I’m so thrilled that I found a great copy! There are elements in the music that I’ve never heard before (and are really cool production “tricks”). This is just a spectacular pressing of an amazing album (not only one of her best, but one of THE best)!

Bought this when it came out in 2016. It sounds fantastic to me…is it PERFECTLY silent throughout? No, but the non-musical sounds are very few after ultrasonic cleaning for me. The second record in particular sounds amazing. I had the CD with the Tornado Mix of Talula, and the original version has grown on me so much over the last few years.

Agree, this is one of my best sounding records and my favorite album of Tori's. The variation on "Telula" was a surprise. Does the regular issue have it? And the records are so thin? Definitely outplays most of my 180 grams. Glad I sprung for this special issue. Sounds incredible and the semi-transparent green LP's are beautiful.

It is good to see that after more than 20 years vinyl quality is still there. The pressing is very good, I can't say much as I bought a used copy, but mine sounds almost like new and I can confirm that the mastering/cutting is top notch. I'd describe the colour as "light coke bottle clear". The records themselves are super thin. I'm giving this edition 4 stars because it's a shame that the artwork has been stripped down to the bare minimum.

On disc 2 “Alamo” and “Sister Named Desire” are not the same versions released on the Talula singles, since they feature additional uncredited bass guitar presumably performed by George Porter Jr.

It sounds wonderful! One of my best sounding records. The color is also very beautiful, definitely one of my fav records.

Sounds good! I can’t attest to the amount of surface noise on any given copy as I bought a used one, but the sound quality is enjoyable, and I absolutely adore the color.

Praise to Chris Bellman for his mastering job on this fabulous work. He should remaster all of her albums. Great tonality& balance.

Is it just me or do a good amount of the CDs of this I see online have water damage on the booklet? I’ve had two of these and they both have water damage. One I got with it and one that at some point mysteriously got it.
