Eagles – Hotel California

One of my favorite albums of all time. I when it first came out. Listening to songs off album on the radio. Brings back great memories of that time in my life. The musicianship and abilities of all the artists in the band were in full display on Hotel. To this day the best live concert I have witnessed is the Eagles. They are truly all great individual musicians but as a group are one of the best to ever perform. Really a perfect album that defines the era it was released. This pressing is fabulous and can be purchased at a reasonable price.

The fidelity of this pressing is extraordinary! Solid drums and bass balanced with aggressive guitars that jump from the speakers. This will be my “go to” spin which I like better than my 2021 remaster. Get a clean copy and enjoy! Wow!

The earlier ones lacked detail & were a little flat to my ears & I listened to a friends MoFI & initially absolutely loved it because I love detail, on listening to Hotel California again with the intention of ordering the MoFi I found I was hearing the detail but missing the musicality/tonality.

Anyway, I held off & stumbled across this one, if I turn the Treble up ‘slightly’ on my Accuphase Pre then I have perfection!!!

Well, in my head it can’t be ‘perfect’ because I’m manipulating it by increasing the treble lol, but…… the end result is perfect!

Then I discovered this was a Bellman master or the Grundman so it all started to make sense.

But what do I know lol, I expect in the future I may buy the MoFi & turn the treble down & bass up & get the ‘New Perfection’ lol.

Anyway…… to me, this is the very best, albeit if I like to inch the treble up for my subjective perfection!

Apart from A3 which sounds a tiny bit too harsh to my ears, record is pretty much flawless with amazing sonics.

Really my only gripe about this record is that the sleeve it came in wasn't poly-lined. Fortunately though, my copy wasn't in its paper sleeve long enough to do any damage before I cleaned it for a play test, and it sounded great! Other than one or two very faint clicks on each side, the surface is really quiet and the mastering is dynamic and a pleasure to listen to. Grateful this record didn't fall victim to the loudness war.

This pressing is fantastic! They should all be like this…. Dynamic with no noise and good volume

Wow what a great pressing. Best pressing of this iconic album. None come close to my ears.

This is the closest one I can find to my version. Differences are 'Manufactured in the UK' on both labels instead of 'Made in UK' here and my runouts are Side A: K-53051-A-2 STRAWBERRY Side B: K-53051-B-2 STRAWBERRY
