Mr. Oizo is one of a couple of artists whose work was vital to the development of my taste for Electronica as a teen. This album is an abrasive one but once you get it, it's honestly a masterpiece. Oizo puts on display the utter torture of analog synthesizers for your pleasure here on top of crazy sample work and bombastic breakbeats. This insane album at times feels like a 90s audio shitpost, but its amateurish veil hides some truly complex and proficient composing.

What a beautiful sounding bass-heavy record. Beats the CD by miles, imho. Glad to have this in my collection. -

Analog worms attack (the track) could/can be used as part of any deep bass music set, from the day it was released unto infinity. Not to mention what has been done with the charting single everyone knows.
This album is the definition of "Ahead of its time" and what dirtier wobbling bass aspired to be and took years to become after. It belongs up in the top 50 electronic albums of all time and possibly even narrower than that. People were not ready for everything on this apart from Flat Beat which was a force of nature unto itself and if he released this album today without Flat Beat even on it, the UK bass music community would collectively lose its mind. -

i doubt this album will be getting a repress anytime soon, I recently tuned back into this album after buying it on vinyl- still as good as the first time i bought it. although Oizo's music these days have evolved into a more electro based vehicle, From the start of the almost drunk sounding "bad start" this album runs at a slower pace with load of heavy bass fills and crunchy drum breaks. I can imagine those who bought this album expecting something similar to "flat beat" was pleasantly surprised at the time as there is a strong connection to Hip Hop and breakbeat here. there's tons of fun little samples littered throughout the record that sound to be lifted from one of those high fidelity records you used to buy to check if your speakers where set up properly and to experience the sound of music on vinyl. Oizo never made music like this again and became a very bizarre force to be reckoned with by the time he made half a mustache so without any hesitation i recommend picking up this album, as it where one of the many slept on albums of 1999. -

Very slept-on at the time of release. Hard downtempo beats and breaks with lots of raw, distorted synth and accents. Holds up due to it's forward-thinking, innovative sound that was sort of a slowed down Chemical Brothers - if you will. A 1-of-a-kind LP which I've revisited quite a few times as the years have ed (since 1999). Recommended. Now, if I could only track down a copy of the vinyl for a reasonable price. -
A seriously underrated piece of totally wicked crap. I mean.. This record is worth everything in of music and nothing in of technical skill :) Sounds like it's been slapped together in a day, and that's why I love it :)

I think this is a great album. Mr. Oizo shows how you with minimal equipment can achieve a unique great sound. It's a realy pleasurable album to listen to. Goot beats, deep basslines and just catchy tunes.... Defenitly not really a techno records as the description says... a lot of breakbeats on this one!
