Very specious luxurious and warm recording. Terrific vocals and bass. Mastering is perfect for this atmospheric and brooding slow journey.

Beautiful sounding CD. Reminds me of being a depressed teen...this and the smiths got me through. A very much treasured cd.

Pressing sounds okay, some background noise here and there but good enough

This pressing seems to be very hit and miss, getting it is just a lottery really. The sound quality on mine was awful on the first two songs of side A and the first of side B, with obnoxiously loud buzzing surface noise over entire sections of the tracks. I have not cleaned mine yet but perhaps this shall help. Also my copy had a literal crushed insect stuck to side A.

It needs a cleaning at least but sound is amazing ! I advice to use a different inner sleeve to save it...

Does anyone know if the original sounds better than the 2015 reissue?

100%, my copy was covered in paper particles. Lucky I saw them before I played, as after cleaning it sounded absolutely perfect.

I was expecting the worst and nothing what I expected. This reissue sounds amazing and the pressing is nice and quiet. well done 4AD. perhaps this is a later pressing of the 2015 reissue plates.

amazing album! the music deeply moves me, the voice, the lyrics...very intense with unique guitar style. mark, i love your music! an album for the island.
