DJ Krush – Meiso

Don’t sleep on this. The 4hero mixes are incredible. The first is a frantic, beautiful light drum n bass remake and the second is a gorgeous slice of summery jazzy hip hop. Essential.

Great record, prefer the luscious mix, jazz Rhodes, skipping drums. A real hum dinger. Sounds like something off their parallel universe LP.

4 hero got my attention - these 2 mixes remind me of tom & jerry, particularly the luscious mix. sounds more like jungle to me!

Though MEISO isn't my favorite track from DJ Krush's same-titled album, the single offers some interesting remixes. DJ Shadow's "Klub Mix" and "Instrumental Mix" fills in the sonics, with low-level strings in the background and a sharper rhythm. 4 Hero adds some quick breaks as well as a resetting the melody into a jazzy major key, but DJ Crystl makes his breaks darker with a violent sample to hint at the darkness.

A major track produced by DJ Krush in 1996, hard to find but worth the search. The klub remix by DJ Shadow is really nice to spin at a party !

I also bought this 12" without realising its an unofficial release. As it has a good sound quality, is on a desent weight press not a flimsy one & the label/info looks like regular mo wax. Also the cat# has a 0 instead of an O that most unofficial mo wax release have.

Looks & sounds like the real deal, bootie or nor its a fine chilled hip-hop / drum & bass vinyl.

I bought this 12" without realizing that it was a bootleg, such was the quality of the sleeve. The sound quality is sub-par however.

This is a great set of remixes though, from 4 Hero's warm Rhodes 'n breaks of their half time vocal jungle mix to DJ Shadow's crunchy drums of death -- look out for the original pressing!
