I will just say I am not a fan of the new packaging. I wish they stuck with the original artwork for the front and back and used more artwork from the cd booklet. I do like the printed inners though, but probably could of just used the artwork from the cd booklet

Edited one month agoDid anyone else notice that on the back of the outer jacket, the inner sleeve, *and* on the label, A-3 is misprinted as "Same Things", not "Same Thing" as it's listed on the CD? Aside from that, I'm super impressed. This LP sounds amazing played loudly. Kudos to whoever made this possible.

I really like this pressing (not that there's other vinyl to compare it to), but I like bright and punchy, which this is. There's enough low for me, but the "beats by Dre" crowd might be a little disappointed. Would have been nice to have a gatefold jacket or lyrics sheet, but I can live without them for this level of mastering. It's not going jump out of your vu meter, but it'll sound great through your speakers. I heard little details that I never noticed on the CD right from the jump. YMMV but I recommend this one over the CD.

Unfortunately I think I agree with existential_records below... This was the title I was most excited for this RSD and it falls a bit flat to me. Not much in the low end and nothing really jumps out as special. One would think that this should be a standout release for dynamics and individual instrument clarity and response but I do not get that impression here. Perhaps the mastering? Perhaps the source? Or maybe I was just expecting too much!

RSD pressing sounds great. Full, well-balanced sound with a lot of punch and clarity. Needed a good bath as it was pretty dirty coming out of the shrink, but to hear this on vinyl is something I wasn't sure we'd ever get to experience. Different color cover is a good indication that there will be a 'regular', 1 LP release of this later this year with the OG artwork.

Every track is a sonic upgrade over the original cds except for "Outdoor Miner" which sounds exactly like the old 3-track cd.

This is a 'RSD First' release - it will be coming out to the masses at some point in the future.
Don't pay above cost. -
My local record store (Waterloo Records in Austin) just posted leftovers for sale on their site. Don’t pay scalper prices

Before I drop crazy money on this…it is an “RSD first”. Any details on when the next press will be? -
With the prices these scalpers are asking for on here and that fact that this is a Jack Joseph Puig Produced album - it had better sound f-ing fantastic on vinyl. Just reading the 3-Star review below has me in extreme doubtfulness.
