I find this pressing to be great! A great natural sound and warmth. Nice detail and wide soundstage. A minor hint of sibilance in Greg Walkers’ vocals in places, but not a deal breaker by any means. Quality packaging. LP’s are flat and centered with super quiet groove floor. Recommended. -
Side B, the live stuff, on this is utterly incredible! Dance Sister Dance and Europa, oh my god! Guitar solo heaven! Really well recorded, sound amazing, feels like your there. Worth it for those 2 tracks alone.

Arrived well packaged, flat and clean. Very quiet and great tone, even on live recordings. Love the performance of Europa. -
Are this and https://discogs.programascracks.com/release/24232682-Santana-Moonflower not the same? Very minor print differences are the only variations that I can see.

This is hardly different than https://discogs.programascracks.com/release/7083419-Santana-Moonflower in my view. The only differences that I can spot are the background color of the price-code boxes are more yellow on this one, and beige on the other and the other release has small cutouts on the inner sleaves whereas this one does not.
I would guess that both of these are the same release with minor print variations. -

I don't see how this reissue should be any different than the 2012 reissue, other than the orange vinyl and numbered sleeves, yet the average rating for this one is considerably higher. I'm not a collector, in it for the sound, so the colored vinyl means nothing to me. Has anyone compared the two, or can explain why this one might sound better? -
MOV have really nailed the mastering, the pressing and the packaging once again. Their consistency is possibly the best in the world while taking into they dont overcharge for their pressings either. Ita such a safe bet of a label with its pressing plant in cahoots and the stuff they put out is not jist the same thing thats been done to death. Back to the sound.... it could so easily not have a digital source as its rich and silky to jist the right degree with good front to back and width expanse. It bares the hallmarks of good analogue. The incoming MoFi will sure have to go some to properly improve on this!
-
Yep ,MOV plates in effect with this one. More importantly the same quality mastering job.... clean and silky smooth. The off white creamy vinyl is different to anything else in my collection and looks superb esp. when backlit, but that would mean sweet f.a. if it wasnt well pressed and guess what.... Record Industry/MOV has again smashed another home run! That being said the regular black copy is just as sweet, so no need for fomo on the sound front at least. The forthcoming MoFi will do well to be a worthwhile upgrade and im not sure i feel the need to even splurge to try

Carlos Santana is a massively underrated artist - who surrounded himself with the best of the best. His recordings in this period transcend what was possible from most playback devices at the time - which is even more of a testament to this commitment to quality. Take the record my Dad played on his shelf-top turntable, put it on a good system 40 years later, and it sounds like a different experience. What a master and one of the greatest of our lifetimes. -

One of those dream albums: a lot of music, all excellent, and in an unbeatable order. That is why, at the time, it was one of the band's biggest commercial comebacks. That the sticker says "promotional" adds a gift feeling. Musical greetings from Chile!
