Bad Company (3) – Bad Co

It took one helluva shootout but this is the best 33rpm reissue of this stone cold classic record. It is superbly balanced throughout. The AP45 does a couple of things better but barely so and this has a smidge more bass eq that this kind of record does benefit from. I do find it bests the Rhino clear vinyl and Abbey Half Speed but tbh all four sound really good to great and theres no losers. And then theres the AP SACD lol.

Truly stunning in most respects. Does better the Rhino Hifi KPG cut in expanse and detail sweetness/cleanliness but its got a little less bass which just spoils things slightly. In fact its almost on the verge of being too light in the bass. Its definately a case of questioning if the 45rpm inconvenience is worth it, seeing as the KPG is so excellent itself. For sure once the latter halves of the KPG are in play, the AP 45 is pulling ahead in almost every respect but that 33 still sings. Both are excellent choices. A warmer system with a rich bass will find the AP wins. A leaner system may play better with KPG.

Superb record. Tight and mixed so that all instruments are clear and the rhythm section are metronomic.

Excellent pressing, worthy far more than they cost. Well mastered and pressed, don’t sleep on this one, it sounds soooo good and will basically only be limited by the system you play it on.

Fabulous pressing. Agree with others, this one sounds great. Dead quiet, flat, and dynamic.

Nothing bad to say about this one. Clean and neutral sounding. Didn’t blow my socks off though.

Excellent pressing. My best japense pressing for sure. I have a us og, and the rhino high fidelity. I can’t figure out which is better between this and the rhino hifi

Remastered to be played loud. Very nice digital transfer of this bafflingly iconic album.
