Sounds great but was it really necessary to have 2 discs for a 40 minute EP? Also no code is a bummer

But actually the A side works at 33 too -- has a nice dubby vibe to it. -

A++ on quality from these guys. I don't hesitate to order Ilian, they care to put out a great product. -

Anyone else getting gnarly distortion and volume loss in the left channel on Side A? I thought it was my setup at first but the Side B sounds perfect. Still investigating the root cause
EDIT: It was my setup. Re-calibrated things and the distortion is gone. Excellent -

Instantly hooked on this release. Way more Detroit than anything I've heard him do before but still has the interesting elements in the percussion Skee Mask is known for. And then there are little flourishes of Freaky Chakra and Jark Prongo even. Love it, my favourite Skee Mask so far! -

Wasn't expecting this. Sort of old skool.
'Matchpoint' is an interesting title as the track ebbs and flows, sort of like a tennis rally, each 32 bars representing a shot in the rally, always different to the previous 32, but which 32 is the overhead backhand smashed winner down the line? You'll just have to tune in to find out. Anyway, daft analogies aside (You started it!), it's nice to hear a track that has so much variation carefully woven into it. So many techno tracks sound the same from the first fifteen seconds to the last. This track has real swing to it (that was an accident, honest).
Three of the tracks sound like Bryan remixing old 90s stuff. I'm sure I can hear Model 500's 'Starlight' in 'Dub Schneider', which sounds like Slam (or the like) have reslammed Juan's track, which is an absolute jewel of techno and I must play it more often.
'Double Standard' has a Dutch-does-Detroit (sounds like one of 'those' films) feel to it, a bit Rachmadical, like the sort of material that would have appeared on the old Fragile label in the 90s, or maybe like something Dave Angel would have put out on Rotation.
'The Bills' sounds like an obvious allusion to 'The Bells' by Jeff Mills, but appears to be based on a track on the flipside of the Kat Moda EP: 'Alarms'. The latter track has aged well, thirty years or so later, and as there has been no repress of Kat Moda (needs addressing) maybe Bryan just decided to make his own version as his copy of Kat Moda is too battered and bruised to play out. Probably should have called the track 'Mullarms' really.
'The Bells' used to take the roof off any party as soon as the first bars hit but 'Alarms' (Kat Moda version) is a descent into the labyrinth for those that are 'on one', probably the roller of all rollers. Can never match the original but Bryan's track is a belter.
Game and first set to me. Time for a Robinson's barley water.
